Due to adverse weather conditions this race was regrettably cancelled on Sunday 13 September at short notice. WP Cycling take the safety of our participants very seriously and after consultation with our safety officer, the race officials, regional health and safety representatives and race organisers we decided to call off the race.

We can only cater for u/19 and older at this race.

The route is a mixture of rolling hills on the one side and a flat sometimes windy section called ‘Waaihoek’ on the other side. The race will cross the Breede River by using the low cement bridge. Please keep on checking social media should this area experience heavy rains.

After 2 road races that had a LOT of excitement, we are moving off the open road to host another exciting event  – this time at the Killarney International RaceWay.  A favourite of many of you, and a chance for the youngsters to have an opportunity to race.

COVID Regulations

We are  still required to adhere to the COVID-19 regulations that have been published by the Department of Sport and Culture.  To this end we require that all cyclists maintain social distancing while not racing.  The use of masks prior to the start of the race is compulsory.  Emails will be sent to all participants informing you of where and when you can sign in for the race.  Please do not arrive at the venue prior to your allocated time.  Registration will be split into 3 areas.  U17 and older will be split into 2 different registration areas.  The younger children’s registration will be held at the Go-Kart track where they will be racing.

It is imperative that we adhere to the social distancing protocols.  We are looking at ways to work within the bounds laid down by CSA and the Department of Sport and Culture to ensure that we can hold a successful event.  Details pertaining to this will be made available to entrants when we send out the race confirmation emails on the Friday before the event.

Team and Individual Time Trials @ Slent Rd
Apr 10 @ 8:00 am – 2:00 pm

It’s Team Time Trial again!  Time for you and your pals to get together and test yourself against the clock.

This year we’ve decided to include an individual time trial for those who want to go it alone!

Teams of 6 riders each will race around a 30 kilometre circuit twice. How fast can you and your mates ride over fast flat 60 kilometres? Which TEAM will have the bragging rights to being the fastest club in the Cape?

Teams of 6 riders will tackle the circuit twice with the time for the team being recorded when the 4th rider crosses the finish line.

Each team member must register and pay individually, then your Team Captains or a nominated member must email the Team Name and the names and ID numbers of all team members to [email protected]. We need this information by Thursday, 8 April!

The individual time trial will take place over the same course, however this will only be one lap of 30km.

This event does not form part of the WP League.

The 2021 season will follow the new categories and seeding guidelines. In most instances participants will already be allocated to fixed categories based on past races. See the same article on how to improve or change your seeding.

Routes and distances

Team members for the Team Time Trial may consist of all age categories from u/17 and older.  All teams compete over 60km.

A Ladies competition will be dependent on the number of Ladies Teams entered, however we also allow  mixed teams in this race.

The individual time trial will take place on the same route however it will be limited to one lap of 30km.

Starting times

This information will be made available closer to the time once teams have been submitted for seeding.
