Randall Februarie Memorial – WP Road Racing League @ Killarney Motor Racing Circuit

This event is hosted by Phoenix Cycling Club in memory of all cyclists who have lost their lives over the years but especially in memory of the late Randall Februarie who was a member of this club.

Registration and costs

This event forms part of the WP Road Racing League 2019. Online entries received before midnight on Friday, 26 July, will qualify for club and youth discounts. After this time online entries will close and late registration will be possible on the day at the event. No discounts will apply on the day.

Cost for open category – R50 per entrant

Registration will take place at Killarney International Raceway from 6h30 on the morning of the race.

Course and distances

Main Track

  • Category 1 – 1h15 + 1 lap
  • Category 2 – 1h00 + 1 lap
  • Category 3 and Women – 45 min + 1 lap
  • Open – 30 mins + 1 lap

Go-Kart Track

  • U11 boys and girls + U13 girls – 25 min + 1 lap
  • U13 boys and U15 girls – 30 min + 1 lap
  • U15 boys and U17 girls – 40 min + 1 lap

Please note:

U19 development cyclists are to compete with the U17’s.  Any U19’s that have been  competing in category 1 and 2 must remain there.

Category 3 and ladies will race at the same time. Whatever race is ‘caught’ will be neutralised until a sufficient racing gap has been re-established.

Raithby Road Race @ The Posthouse Wine Farm

The Wannabees Cycling Club is hosting this race again for a second year. This date is provisional and may be updated no later than 3 months prior to the race.

Registration and costs

Online entries received before midnight on Friday, 30 August 2019, will qualify for club and youth discounts. After this time online entries will close and late registration will be possible on the day at the event. No discounts will apply on the day.

    • Category 1 – 90kms (9 x 10kms)
    • Category 2 –  80 kms (8 x 10kms)
    • Category 3 – 60 kms (6 x 10kms)
    • Women – 60 kms (6 x 10kms)

The Sports Trust – Beacon Hill Secondary School Criterium @ Beacon Hill Secondary School, Michell's Plain

The Sports Trust, in partnership with Nedbank, is hosting their Community Cycle race at Beacon Hill High School this year, on Sunday, 8 September, and we wish to invite all cyclists to attend.

  • Youth Categories per age category.

  • Crit Format – 5.9km Circuit

Times

Registration:

From 7am to 8:15am

Briefing:

A race briefing will be held at 8:30am. The briefing will discuss the safety precautions, route and time table.

Race Start:

A staggered start will be implemented due the the various distances. All riders should be ready after the briefing.

Prize Giving:

Prize giving will be at the Beacon Hill Secondary School at 1pm.

Parents registering their children

Parents should first use the Registration option to register themselves. This will allow us to use your email address for communication.

When using the “Enter Online” either link a new person (your child) using the button for that purpose, or select the person from the list (if already added at an earlier time).

Was my entry successful?

You will receive a confirmation email once your entry is complete. Ensure you follow the process all the way to the checkout screen, even if you plan to pay on the day (in this case select the “Pay at the event” payment method).

Did not receive an email?

If you did not receive your confirmation email it is possible that you did not follow the full process. Please check the following two options;

You did not complete the payment process

Free entries and entries paid on the day must still follow the Checkout process. See if you receive a notification in the right section (best visible on the home page), notifying you of “Entries Awaiting Payment”. In this case click on the “Shopping Basket” link/icon.

You did not complete the entry process

Follow the “Enter Online” option again. If the process was not completed either select the View Cart button (if displayed) on the entry page or simply follow the process again, selecting the person and clicking “Add Selected”.

Piketberg Community Road Race by THE SPORTS TRUST 2019 @ Tollie Adams Piketberg Cricket Ground

Steynsville Senior Secondary School in conjunction with BergRivier Municipality and The Sports Trust are hosting a road cycling race in the picturesque town of Piketberg.

The league categories will, as usual, head off towards Redelinghuys, head back and up the Versfeld Pass over a 103km distance!

The 50km route will head out to Eendekuil Road and will make a U Turn to race on the same road back to Piketberg. These races will not tackle the mountain pass. There will be a 20km Community Funride around the town and suburb of Piketberg.

All races start and end at the Piketberg Cricket Grounds.

There will be free entry for the scholar/youth Age Category events (but not for the league events).

Online entries received before midnight on FRIDAY 11 October 2019 will receive a discount of R100 per rider. After this time online entries will close and late registration will only be possible on the day at the event.

The event does not form part of the WP Road Racing League 2019.

  • Category 2 – 103 kms (WP Road Racing League criteria)
  • Category 3 –  103kms (WP Road Racing League criteria)
  • Women – 103 kms (WP Road Racing League criteria)
  • Youth – u19,17,15 – 50 kms

All races start and end at the Piketberg Cricket Grounds.

103km Route

The Category Races will be raced over an undulating 103 km course out towards Redelinghuys, riders will negotiate a U Turn in the road and return back on the same road towards Piketberg. Just before the outskirts of the Town, the race will turn right on the Versfeld Pass where a sprint prime will be contested before tacking a climb that won’t be out of place in a ‘Grand Tour’.

The Sprint  and KOM competitions are applicable to only Category 1.

50km Route

Schools Age Categories (50 kms) will race out to the Eendekuil Road and will make a U Turn to race on the same road back to Piketberg. These races will not tackle the Versfeld Pass.

Funride Route

There will also be a Community Funride of 20 kilometres around the town and suburb of Piketberg.
