Lenovo & Cycle Teknix are proud to announce the launch of the prime (pronounced: preem) points competition for the rest of the Cycle Teknix Killarney Autumn & Winter League Racing Series.
Well known to Criterium riders globally, Primes make circuit racing faster, more exciting and give extra opportunity for riders to be winners!
A prime is an intermediate lap within a race that carries points and or prizes for the winner of that lap.
For this competition the prime laps will be randomly selected by officials and the start of a prime lap will be indicated by a horn when riders cross the line, in the same way the last lap bell is used to indicate the final lap.
Race day prizes
For the first of the Cycle Teknix Killarney series, taking place on Sunday the 24 April 2016, there will be;
2 Prime laps for the ladies category
2 Prime laps for Cat 3
3 Prime laps for Cat 2
4 Prime laps for Cat 1
The winner of each of these prime laps will receive a Platinum VIP Cycle Teknix card with R150 loaded on it. In addition, this VIP card includes a 15% cash back rewards program for all future purchases when shopping at Cycle Teknix. (Restrictions & T&C’s Apply)
Lenovo Grand Prize
The first 3 riders in every single prime will receive points towards the overall Lenovo Grand Prize for each category as follows:
Prime winner – 3 Points
Second – 2 points
Third – 1 point
The overall winner, in each category, will, at the end of the Killarney series, receive a brand new Lenovo tablet!
