We use barriers to typically secure the finish line, but also as a means for our sponsors to have advertising space. This page describe when you need it and how to go about it.
Order barriers only when needed or as indicated by the safety officer. Also, if the sponsor is willing to pay for barriers let them pay for that.
Advertising (on the barriers) is always for the cost of the sponsor. It is beneficial to try and secure the same sponsor each year so that they can maximise the investment made in any advertising material.
According to UCI regulations a 100m of safety barriers are needed. Since most of our races are low risk, small events, we do not always need to resort to these extremes.
